Purpose of the role

The Loan Documentation Manager works closely with the lending staff and outside vendors to ensure closing documents are produced accurately and in compliance with Bank policy and procedures. The successful candidate will participate in activities to improve efficiencies within the department and the Bank.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Perform check and balance on all transactions to ensure conformance to credit policies.
  2. Ensure that all relevant documents are compiled and filed under each customer profile.
  3. Review draft/executed financing documents such as letter of offer against approvals.
  4. Liaise with business units and external parties.
  5. Perform checks to ensure legal and security documentation are completed, conditions precedent are fulfilled prior to activation of credit facilities, monitoring of conditions subsequent and ensure that the legal and security documents are being customized.
  6. In charge of preparing letters/reports, updating of registers and custodians of documents.
  7. Manage day-to-day business transactions to ensure that the agreed turnaround time with the business is met.
  8. Process daily loan applications by verifying customer data and checking their legibility.
  9. Provide all products and services to the Lending Manager to ensure that it is an informed decision.
  10. Ensure accuracy and efficiency for all transactions.
  11. Ensure all documents are duly filed.
  12. Ensure all documents are duly backed up and kept for filing purposes.
  13. Carry out file management and bring up system.
  14. Control all aspects of credit applications and documents.
  15. Ensure that the Credit Lending Manager is supported fully in ensuring a smooth process.
  16. Communicate all decisions made to the relevant parties in a timely manner.
  17. Maintain all SOPs and ensure that it stays current with trends and changes.
  18. Provide necessary information to management as and when required.

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with peers to ensure effective support and service delivery.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with staff and key business stakeholders to effectively support them in implementing sales, service, operational, process, and credit quality initiatives, and in the identification of continuous improvement and adherence to processes and requirements.

External Relationships

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with community and business contacts to maximize financial services opportunities.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with local community groups through tailored local marketing plans.

Key Job Requirements

Qualifications

  1. Tertiary Qualifications in business, commercial or finance are desirable.

Experience

  1. Demonstrated experience in roles requiring credit assessment and retention and growth of a customer base.
  2. Demonstrated experience in financial services.
