Reporting Line: Duta Guru Community Manager

Role Purpose

Support the growth, engagement, and sustainability of the Duta Guru Community — a network of STEM educators and leaders dedicated to advancing student outcomes and driving change in Malaysia’s education ecosystem. This role will focus on developing resources, executing community initiatives, engaging Duta Guru in PDG events and delivering operational support to strengthen the Duta Guru Community and its alignment to Teach For Malaysia’s mission.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for community sustainability and engagement.
  • Support the building of partnerships with education stakeholders to enhance programme outcomes. (Candidates with stakeholder engagement experience will have an advantage.)
  • Create and iterate on the tracking of engagements, opportunities and impact stories of the community. leadership curriculum, training frameworks, and mentorship models.
  • Oversee and support concept development, planning, and implementation of key engagement efforts.
  • Assist in financial tracking and support impact reporting for our funding partner, Yayasan PETRONAS. (Experience in reporting or donor communication is a bonus.)
  • Coordinate the synthesis of feedback and risks into actionable recommendations for programme improvement.
  • Support the planning and tracking of CCOL and Duta Guru milestones in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and presence in high-stakes, collaborative contexts.

  • Excellent proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite, and willing to adopt platforms such as Confluence, Salesforce, and Zoom.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage multiple streams of work, and independently prioritise tasks
  • Strong desire to learn new things and grow professionally

  • Experience using digital collaboration platforms such as Google Suite, Confluence, Salesforce and Zoom is an advantage.
