A leading company in the oil and gas sector is looking for a Drilling Engineer to lead exploration activities in Malaysia's Deepwater Block 4E and other key areas. The ideal candidate will have substantial industry experience and a track record in managing drilling engineering projects, demonstrating strong leadership and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer in a PSC Operator environment.
• At least 1 recent subsea exploration well drilling experience.
• Experience working with diverse teams and ensuring compliance with PETRONAS.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage drilling operations and prepare operating procedures.
• Conduct data analyses and prepare End of Well Reports.
• Coordinate logistics staff for safe and efficient operations.
• Provide expertise in Well Design Basis and tender specifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accomplish exploration activity in Deepwater Block 4E, with due consideration for HSE, by proper management and timely execution of the project as the operator in cooperation with the joint venture partners.
• Accomplish exploration activity in Block SK418 and Block SK510 by proper management and timely execution of the project in cooperation with the joint venture partners.
• Achieve early growth of Malaysia business as a core area of INPEX Group by actively seeking new business opportunities, enhancing personnel capabilities in the KL Office, and expanding the organization in line with project progress.
• Contribute to business operation and development aimed at early production and establishing low-carbon business in Malaysia.

Job Objectives:

• Support Drilling Team Leader, Senior Drilling Engineer, Drilling Superintendent, and Drilling Operations Manager in conducting and coordinating all aspects of drilling engineering and operations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide expertise in drilling engineering for preparing operating procedures, Well Design Basis (BoWD), tender specifications, and selecting service providers and materials.
• Assist in developing WP&B, cost estimates, and AFE documents.
• Conduct data analyses to improve future operations and prepare End of Well Reports.
• Generate operational instructions, monitor daily drilling activities, and manage MOC processes as needed.
• Coordinate with logistics staff to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:

• Minimum 6 years of industry experience in a PSC Operator environment as a Drilling Engineer.
• At least 1 recent subsea exploration well drilling experience as a Drilling Engineer.
• Experience working in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with PETRONAS, JV, and Company requirements.
• Preferably experience with subsea well testing.
• Experience working with diverse teams.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), preferably also in Bahasa Malaysia.
• BEng in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical Engineering, or similar preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and LANDMARK drilling modules.
• Self-motivated with strong leadership skills.

External Stakeholders:

PETRONAS MPM, Joint Venture Partners (Petronas Carigali, Petros), Drilling and Service contractors.
