Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter to contribute to interior design projects as part of a collaborative design team. You will produce tender, construction, shop and as-built drawings, conduct site surveys, and ensure accurate measurements.

You will co-manage the design project alongside the studio and project team to ensure budget, schedule and client expectations are met from project inception to occupancy, while following policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design/Architecture or related program.
• Fresh graduates or 2–3 years of experience.
• Strong draughting techniques and CAD software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design projects and produce technical drawings for tender, construction and as-built stages.
• Conduct site surveys and accurate measurements.
• Liaise with M&E subcons, carpenters and others for accurate information.
• Understand construction methods and best practices.
• Produce tender, construction, shop and as-built drawings.
• Attend meetings and ensure deadlines per the Design Director.

As a CAD Designer/Drafter, you will work on interior design projects as a fully collaborative member of a design team and undertake a variety of design projects. You will deal with the production of tender, construction, shop and as-built drawings. You will co-manage the design project alongside the studio and project team to ensure budget, schedule and client expectations are met from time of project inception to owner occupancy. You will make sure policies and procedures are adequately followed.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake design projects as a member of the team producing technical drawings for tender, construction and As-Builts
• Conduct site surveys and accurate measurements
• Liaise with trade subcons such as M&E, carpenters and others for accurate information
• Understanding of construction method and best practices
• Produce tender, construction, shop and As Built drawings
• Produce drawings for building submissions and to the submissions Architect
• Conduct site visits before, during and after construction
• Attend meetings when required
• Ensure work progress is as per schedules and in a timely manner and that deadlines set by the Design Director are met
• Work closely with the project team, architects and subcontractors

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design/Architecture or a related program
• Fresh graduate candidates or with 2 to 3 years working experience
• Demonstrate strength in draughting techniques, construction method knowledge and CAD software knowledge
• Great attitude and willingness to learn, adapt and work well in team settings
• Professional, responsible and mature
