Lead Document Control – Major Offshore Development Project (Suriname)

Location: Kuala Lumpur (Resident role, office-based)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 12 months, renewable
Language Requirements: Fluent in English and French
Engagement Type: PAYE or local contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Document Control professional to join a high-performing team on a flagship offshore development project based in Suriname. This position plays a vital role in supporting project execution by establishing and maintaining best-in-class document management systems and controls throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion H3SE behaviors, ensuring safety and environmental compliance in documentation activities.
  • Develop and implement a Document Management Plan, including strategy, organizational structure, tools, and systems.
  • Ensure consistent and effective use of document control procedures, tools (including New PRODOM), and workflows.
  • Supervise and support a team of document controllers across multiple project locations.
  • Set up and maintain document control systems for contractors, including training, inductions, and compliance monitoring.
  • Register, track, and control project documentation and correspondence using digital platforms.
  • Review and validate contractor-issued documents for compliance with standards and project specifications.
  • Support documentation activities related to custody transfer, handover to operations, and partner correspondence.
  • Provide detailed reporting to project and document management leadership.
  • Ensure full confidentiality throughout tendering and execution.
  • Capture and share lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Documentation Control, with at least 3 years in oil & gas projects.
  • Proven experience with large-scale project documentation systems; New PRODOM expertise preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional document control activities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to documentation quality and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and French is mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team and adapt to fast-paced environments.
