Qualifications

The Director of Supplier Quality is responsible for leading and managing the supplier quality function within Advanced Energy, Inc. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to ensure the highest quality standards are met by suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with key suppliers. The Director of Supplier Quality will work closely with Global Commodity Management, Design, and Factory teams to support the company's overall quality objectives and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Quality Management: Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Supplier Development: Collaborate with the Global Commodity Management (GCM) team to develop the supply base in Southeast Asia for supply chain continuity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as DPPM, SCAR, Purge, turnaround time, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Supplier Audits: Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Set targets and drive initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize processes.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier quality, including potential supply chain disruptions.
  • Collaboration: Work with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to align on quality objectives and supplier performance.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to suppliers on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Change Management: Manage supplier changes and ensure proper communication within the organization and to customers, in compliance with copy exact policies.
  • Claim Management: Coordinate with GCM to manage claims with suppliers as appropriate.
  • Databases: Develop and maintain supplier quality database systems for efficient and up-to-date information.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on supplier quality performance to senior management.
Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment, noisy and busy manufacturing areas/labs, and clean-room settings.
  • AE is a highly dynamic, technically challenging, and fast-paced manufacturing workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience leading a team of supplier quality engineers across multiple locations and commodities including PCBA, mechanical, and electrical parts.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards such as ISO9001, ISO 13485, etc.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required; effective communication in both languages is essential.
Experiences:
  • At least 10 years of experience in the semiconductor or power electronics industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in quality management systems and tools.
Education:

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
