A leading company in the power electronics sector is seeking a Director of Supplier Quality. This pivotal role involves managing supplier quality functions, developing strategies for quality assurance, and cultivating relationships to ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management and a strong grasp of engineering principles.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Supplier Quality is responsible for leading and managing the supplier quality function within Advanced Energy, Inc. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to ensure the highest quality standards are met by suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with key suppliers. The Director of Supplier Quality will work closely with Global Commodity Management, Design and Factory teams to support the company's overall quality objectives and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Supplier Quality Management: Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
· Supplier Development: Participate with the Global Commodity Management (GCM) team in developing the supply base in South East Asia for supply chain continuity.
· Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs – DPPM, SCAR, Purge, turnaround time etc.) and implement corrective actions as needed.
· Supplier Audits: Conduct regular supplier audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
· Continuous Improvement: Set targets and drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize processes.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier quality, including potential supply chain disruptions.
· Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to ensure alignment on quality objectives and supplier performance.
· Training and Development: Provide training and support to suppliers on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
· Change Management: Manage supplier changes and ensure appropriate communication within the organization and to customers in compliance with copy exact policies.
· Claim Management: In cooperation with the Global Commodity Management (GCM) team, manage claims with suppliers as appropriate.
· Databases: Develop and maintain supplier quality databased systems to ensure efficient and up to date supplier information is available.
· Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on supplier quality performance to senior management.

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field from an accredited institution.
