Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Director of Sales & Marketing to join our team and drive revenue growth, brand awareness and market expansion across all market segments of our hotel. Job Summary:

The Director of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with our business goals. This role will oversee all aspects of revenue generation, including corporate, leisure, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), digital marketing, and brand development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales & marketing plan to achieve business targets and drive hotel occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Sales & Marketing team to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and business channels to maximize growth.
  • Oversee digital marketing, social media campaigns, SEO/SEM efforts, and website performance.
  • Manage PR activities and brand positioning across multiple platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, corporate accounts, and event organizers.
  • Analyse sales performance metrics and market trends to inform decision-making and strategy.
  • Collaborate with operations, revenue management, rooms and F&B departments to ensure alignment of goals and offers.

Requirements:

  • Possesses a bachelor’s degree/diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in 5 stars international class hotel, with at least 5 years in the similar capacity role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, leisure, and group sales within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead high-performance team and able to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
  • Deep understanding of luxury hospitality trends, customer segmentation and international markets.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
