About the role

A Director of Information Technology is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing an organization’s technology strategy, IT operations, and ensuring that IT systems and infrastructure support business goals effectively. This role involves strategic planning, managing IT teams, and overseeing large-scale IT projects while maintaining cybersecurity, system stability, and efficiency.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies, policies, and procedures to align with the organisation's goals

Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security

Manage and lead the IT team, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff to drive efficiency and innovation

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify and address technology-related needs and challenges

Monitor and evaluate IT performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process optimisation

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards regarding data privacy, cybersecurity, and IT governance

Develop and manage IT budgets, forecasts, and procurement processes

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement solutions that drive business growth

What we're looking for

Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a senior IT management or director-level role, preferably in the education or related industry

Extensive knowledge and expertise in information technology management, including infrastructure, systems, and project management

Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to align IT initiatives with the organisation's business objectives

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing IT teams

Proficient in budgeting, financial management, and procurement processes related to IT

Thorough understanding of IT governance, compliance, and risk management practices

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
