Job summary

Cohu Malaysia seeks a Director of Supplier Manufacturing Development to build and lead a new supplier manufacturing organization. The role focuses on defining the charter, hiring the team, and building global partnerships with Supply Chain, Quality and Engineering.

The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years in manufacturing with direct production responsibility, deep expertise in core manufacturing processes, and a proven track record in Lean/TPS and Six Sigma, with extensive experience engaging

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
15+ years in manufacturing with direct line responsibility for running production.
Experience leading engineering or manufacturing teams across multiple sites, preferably in global corporations.
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one core manufacturing process (e.g., precision machining, plating and surface finishing, assembly, sheet metal, molding or weldments).
Experience with Lean / TPS and Six Sigma with measurable results.
Working knowledge of quality tools (PFMEA, control plan, SPC, MSA) and GD&T.

Responsibilities

Build and lead Cohu's new Supplier Manufacturing Development organization in Asia.
Walk supplier floor to assess manufacturing capability and implement improvement plans.
Lead large capability and improvement projects at strategic suppliers.
Recruit and develop Supplier Development Engineers and define operating processes.
Own supplier capability assessment methodology and on-site qualification.
Drive cross-functional engagement to remove roadblocks and improve performance.
