Description:

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead and provide guidance on general accounting activities, including tax, corporate finance, treasury, and statutory reporting. Responsibilities include reviewing annual financial results, providing insights into financial data, and preparing presentations for the Group, Board of Directors, and analyst briefings.

Job Responsibilities :

  1. Develop and oversee the implementation of the Group's accounting processes and internal controls to ensure proper governance over accounting and reporting activities.
  2. Manage external relationships to ensure timely and quality statutory financial reporting, staying updated on relevant finance matters.
  3. Manage relationships with banks and tax agents.
  4. Formulate and oversee the implementation of the Group's tax policies and controls to ensure consistent application across countries.
  5. Handle corporate finance, treasury, working capital management, and foreign exchange activities.
  6. Ensure timely and accurate recording of accounting transactions, including month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with local standards.
  7. Review accounts analysis and reconciliations to resolve variances and discrepancies promptly.
  8. Communicate financial data and insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  9. Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial reports for internal and external reporting, including quarterly and full-year reports to the Stock Exchange.
  10. Support the preparation of presentations for the Board of Directors and analyst briefings.
  11. Participate in Finance Transformation projects.
  12. Support M&A activities.
  13. Monitor compliance with the Group Treasury policy and reporting requirements to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
  14. Maintain the treasury management system and document controls as part of a robust systems architecture.
  15. Participate in projects to improve treasury and cash management processes.
  16. Oversee the external audit process and liaise with auditors during annual reviews.

Job Requirements :

  1. Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
  2. Minimum of eight to ten years’ experience in a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of business and industry, with advanced understanding of local and international accounting standards.
  4. Proven experience with SAP accounting applications is advantageous.
  5. Excellent research and analytical skills.
  6. Ability to set direction and communicate goals effectively.
  7. Experience in managing and developing a team of approximately 15 members.
  8. Champion for digital and technological advancements within the Finance team.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Support DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) initiatives.
  11. Must be able to work at The Ascent, Paradigm Petaling Jaya.
