Director Datacenter Operations

Our client, a global data center operator is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Director to oversee the day-to-day operations, service delivery, and overall management of their data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all operational aspects of the data center, including facility management, power, cooling, security, and physical infrastructure.
• Develop and enforce operational procedures, safety standards, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Oversee maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of physical infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
• Manage the delivery of services to internal and external clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Implement and monitor operational KPIs related to uptime, response times, incident resolution, and service quality.
• Lead incident management, troubleshooting, and recovery efforts to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operational processes, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
• Prepare operational budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data center operations with business objectives and growth plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in data centers, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, controls and monitoring aspects of a mission critical 24/7 data centre
• Proven ability to manage teams, vendors, and multiple operational projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with safety standards, compliance, and risk management in a data center environment.
