Description

At Solarvest, we’re seeking a manager to lead our digital product POWERVEST, an open web-based marketplace for home owners and manufacturing SMEs (factories, warehouses, etc) in Southeast Asia to get rooftop solar quotes from all leading contractors in the country, as well as instant solar financing options and approvals.

The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in digital product or platform growth. He/She will work with various stakeholders, including solar engineers, financial institutions, software developers & UI designers, and digital marketing teams, to bring POWERVEST to life. This will include travel to and working with our Vietnam office which can help with connecting to local stakeholders.

The candidate must have a good business sense and experience in establishing a web application which can provide real value proposition to its users, as well how to monetise the value proposition to achieve commercial success from early on.

Furthermore, the person must have a customer-first mindset, understanding of back-end and front-end programming principles, user base growth, conversion rates and digital marketing experience, and how to scale.

First, POWERVEST is a tool to enable the fast growth of small rooftop solar installations in Southeast Asia. The product is developed under Solarvest Asset Management in our HQ office in Petaling Jaya. In 2026, POWERVEST becomes a profit-centric business which will benefit from the high-growth rooftop solar demand. As the first dedicated Product Manager, the candidate will be the head of the product with career opportunities to helm the POWERVEST business as GM/CEO.

Objectives of this role

  • Execute top-level direction and objectives of POWERVEST.
  • Finetune the direction into a detailed business plan and execute within time and budgets.
  • Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams to validate the commercial viability.
  • Work with developers (external companies) to establish Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Work with financial institutions to integrate solar financing programmes into POWERVEST.
  • Work with digital marketing teams to establish minimum traffic targets and conversions.
  • Work with solar contractors (EPC companies), onboard, establish quality standards and control mechanisms, and a rating system.
  • Participate in market research, validation, and white space analysis to identify opportunities for new or existing features and functionalities.

Responsibilities

  • Product: To manage roadmap and backlog for all digital product features, ensuring that IT delivers capabilities on time and per expectation.
  • Marketing: To achieve traffic, user base and conversion as per the business plan.
  • Commercial: To monetise the product and to maximise income.
  • Oversee requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing.
  • Partner with the executive team to identify key capabilities needed as well as potential issues.
  • Partner regularly with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritisation.
  • Work with product marketing to develop positioning and messaging and ensure differentiation from competitors.
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance to facilitate continuous iteration and improvement.


Requirements
  • Available immediately or notice no longer than 1 month.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in digital product management or similar role in a known and reputable internet company or brand.
  • Clear track record of building and growing digital products/platforms.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills.
  • Experience in usability and customer-focused design.
  • Passion for building great products to solve customer and business problems.
  • Good English language skills.
  • Understanding of rooftop solar with regards to industry and basic technical, net metering quotas, etc.
  • Understanding of equipment leasing and other solar financing programmes.
  • Understanding of roof and solar insurances.
