Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a data engineer to design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, views, and functions, and to build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for reliable data processing. You will model clean data for reporting, collaborate with analysts, and ensure governance and compliance across data operations.

You will prepare trusted datasets and semantic models for Tableau dashboards, with thorough documentation to support collaboration and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with foundation in databases, pipelines, and analytics tooling.
• Solid knowledge of relational design, SQL and data modeling.
• Experience building large ETL/ELT pipelines and working with big data.

Responsibilities include building reusable ETL/ELT pipelines, modeling clean and accurate data for reporting, and supporting high performance and compliance in data operations. The role also supports analytics through trusted datasets and semantic models for Tableau dashboards, with thorough documentation maintained for collaboration and governance.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, views, stored procedures, and functions
• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and lakehouses using a range of tools and platforms
• Collaborate with analysts to model clean, accurate, and reporting-ready data
• Monitor and enhance the performance of data pipelines and datasets
• Support data security, quality, and compliance through standardized processes
• Prepare trusted datasets and semantic models for Tableau dashboards, with clear documentation to support governance and collaboration

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent, or relevant industry certifications, with a solid foundation in database structures, data pipelines, and analytics tools
• Skills in relational database design and dynamic SQL
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with large datasets
• Familiarity with lakehouse or modern data architecture patterns
• Understanding of data quality and governance principles
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with both technical and business teams
