Job summary

MatchaTalent is seeking an experienced Diamond Drilling Supervisor to lead and coordinate diamond drilling for exploration and mine development in Papua New Guinea. You will supervise crews, optimize performance, ensure core quality, and partner with geologists, mining engineers, and site management to deliver safe, high‑quality drilling outcomes.

This role requires remote-site leadership, FIFO/DIDO rosters, and strong knowledge of drill rigs, maintenance, and field troubleshooting to maximize

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional diamond drilling experience.
Minimum 2 years supervising drilling crews.
Experience managing drilling programs in underground and/or surface environments.
Remote site work experience with FIFO/DIDO rosters.
Strong leadership and ability to develop multicultural teams.
Solid knowledge of drilling methods, rig operation, and condition assessment.

Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and mentor diamond drilling crews to ensure safe, efficient operations.
Coordinate daily drilling activities, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and schedules.
Monitor productivity, metreage performance, core recovery rates, and efficiency.
Ensure high-quality core recovery and sample integrity.
Enforce health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures while promoting a safety culture.
Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.
Monitor drill rig performance, equipment utilization, and consumables management.
Prepare and submit operational reports; collaborate with geologists, engineers, and site teams.
Support workforce development through coaching, training, and performance management.
