Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Prai, Penang, seeks a DFX & Process Development Senior Manager to lead a team of DFX engineers and drive cost, quality and delivery targets across the EMS cluster.

You will provide technical direction, manage budgets, track progress, and support customers and sales teams while guiding product design from proposal to delivery. A strong EMS background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in EMS
• 9 years of engineering experience with supervisory responsibilities in EMS
• Experience managing a DFX engineering team is advantageous
• Knowledge of multiple PCBA manufacturing and DFX processes in EMS
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to Hardware and Software Engineering & Design teams
• Oversee budgeting, allocation and review of resources
• Track projects and progress through regular reviews
• Develop control systems and reports to measure progress and identify issues
• Participate in product architecture and feasibility reviews
• Assist in developing product designs from proposal to delivery
• Provide technical support to customers and sales teams
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain qualified staff

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a DFX & Process Development Senior Manager located in Prai, Penang. Responsible for managing a team of DFX engineers to ensure that cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. Provide technical leadership on new technology development, qualification, and deployment into operations to deliver best-in-class manufacturing and technology solutions across the cluster.

Typical day

• Provide technical direction to Hardware and Software Engineering & Design teams.
• Oversee resource budgeting, allocation, review, and approval.
• Track projects and progress through regular reviews.
• Develop control systems and reports which accurately measure progress, identify potential technical problems, and implement timely corrective actions to ensure that commitments are met.
• Participate in product architecture and feasibility technical reviews.
• Aid and guide in the development of product designs from proposal to delivery.
• Provide technical support to customers and the Sales team.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Experience we’re looking for

• Typically requires at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training in the EMS industry.
• Typically requires 9 years of engineering experience, including supervision, in the EMS industry.
• Experience in managing a DFX engineering team is a strong advantage.
• Demonstrates strong capability, technical knowledge, and experience in multiple areas of PCBA manufacturing and DFX in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.
• Demonstrates functional, technical, people, and manufacturing management skills, as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries, or functions, and an understanding of the interdependencies of such processes at the site.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
