Flextronics - The Flex Company in Penang is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Senior Manager to lead the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, driving cost, quality and delivery goals. The role is based in Prai, Penang and requires directing a team to optimize equipment utilization for production support.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
• Establishes preventative maintenance schedules.
• Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
• Reviews and establishes material, equipment, and workforce resource requirements.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations.
• Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.
• Administer safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees.
• Generates maintenance logs and other operations metrics.
• Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic people and/or process management skills.
• Implements and improves functional processes and strategic plans.

What a typical day looks like

• Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
• Establishes preventative maintenance schedules.

• Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area.
• May lead a major initiative that may impact multiple sites/customers.
• Executes and provide input to functional processes.
• Enhances functional processes.
• Executes function strategic plans and objectives.
• Makes decisions for the function. Decisions may affect site.
• Demonstrates skills in performance management, teaching/leading, counselling and/or mentoring.

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
