Job summary

6255 UOB Innovation Hub 2 Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Developer for Cards to collaborate across the full software lifecycle. You will work with project inception, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment, delivering card-system enhancements in line with mandated frameworks.

The role requires hands-on coding in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch, plus strong experience with REST APIs, CI/CD practices, and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders from project inception to deployment ensuring quality and timely delivery of cards technology system enhancements.
• Maintain up-to-date repository of system features and data maps for the cards domain.
• Coordinate with application teams to manage dependencies and ensure seamless integration.
• Identify and resolve risks/issues related to technical delivery.
• Support SIT, UAT, performance/load testing, and security testing with quality outcomes.
• Assist in source control, packaging, and deployment activities.
• Manage change management and deployment processes to ensure smooth adoption.
• Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency, decision-making, and innovation in daily workflows.
• Demonstrate 6+ years of Delivery, Project, Stakeholder & Vendor Management experience.
• Hands-on coding, functional specs, technical specs, and systems development/testing experience.

Job Responsibilities

As the Developer for Cards, you will be responsible to collaborate, engage and work with stakeholders from project inception, analysis, design, development, testing to pre- and post-deployment phases. Key objective is to ensure good quality and smooth delivery of cards technology system enhancements that are fully in compliance with mandated framework and guidelines. The role involves technical delivery across requirements management, design and development, testing, integration, and planning for deployment and support.

• Other responsibilities include: Collaborate with system analysts and developers on strategic projects across the UOB franchise.
• Maintain an up-to-date repository of system features and data maps for the cards domain.
• Coordinate with application teams to manage technical dependencies and ensure seamless integration.
• Identify and resolve risks/issues related to technical delivery.
• Work with Test Manager to ensure successful completion of SIT, UAT, performance/load testing, and security testing with quality outcomes.
• Support technical implementation, including source control, package management, and deployment.
• Manage change management activities, deployment processes, and user verification to ensure smooth implementation and adoption.
• Leverage AI tools and technologies to improve efficiency, decision-making, and innovation in daily workflows.
• At least 6 years of Delivery, Project, Stakeholder & Vendor Management experience.
• Experience in actual systems development work, with prior coding, functional specifications and technical specifications and systems development and testing experience.

Job Requirements

Hands on Experience should include Operating Systems: Proficiency in UNIX/Linux environments, including shell scripting and system administration.

Programming & Frameworks: Strong development skills in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch, with experience in writing efficient, maintainable code

• Web Server Management: Practical experience in configuring and managing Apache HTTP Server, including SSL/TLS setup, virtual hosts for secure web applications.
• API Development & Integration: Expertise in designing, consuming, and exposing RESTful APIs, handling JSON/XML data formats, and ensuring compliance with security standards; experience with microservices architecture is a strong advantage.
• Middleware & Interfaces: Ability to implement and manage batch jobs, data exchanges, and system interfaces using technologies such as IBM MQ, JSON, and XML.
• Database Management: Strong experience with Oracle, Postgre or Microsoft SQL Server, including PL/SQL development and database integration.
• Batch Processing & Scheduling: Hands-on experience with Control-M or similar tools for job scheduling and workflow automation.
• DevOps & CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, and others for secure and automated deployments. Responsible for building and maintaining automated, secure, and scalable containerized application environments that streamline CI/CD workflows and ensure reliable deployment across development and production.

Financial domain knowledge is desirable especially on Banking, Credit Cards Application Domains. At least 6 years of experience in building scalable banking specific platforms Bachelor’s degree in computing, computer science, software engineering or relevant domain.
