Job summary

Electrolux Group is seeking a Design Lead for the Digital Design team to craft connected experiences for home appliances and companion apps. You will lead a multidisciplinary design team, set direction for foundational app experiences, and mentor designers to grow their craft and impact.

You will guide discovery, partner with product and engineering, and ensure user-centered, scalable design across the portfolio. Hybrid work in Kuala Lumpur/Stockholm support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a design leadership role within a technology, digital product, or software organization.
• Demonstrated experience as a people manager with performance management and coaching responsibilities.
• Thorough understanding of design and creative development processes in an Agile environment.
• Extensive hands-on UX design experience in cross-functional agile teams.
• Solid understanding of mobile UX and platform guidelines; applying design systems.
• Excellent communication to articulate design rationale and decisions.
• Good knowledge of how to use AI to improve processes and outcomes.
• Fluent English in speech and writing.

We are looking for a Design Lead to join the Digital Design team, where we design connected experiences for home appliances and the apps that control them. In this role, you will be responsible for the core app and shared experiences, leading a team of designers with deep expertise in creating intuitive, scalable, and high-quality digital experiences. You will set the design direction for foundational app experiences, raise the bar for craft and user advocacy, and coach designers to grow their skills and confidence. Working closely with product management, engineering leads, and senior stakeholders, you will connect business strategy with user needs and translate complex product challenges into coherent experiences across our portfolio.

This role covers foundational app experiences such as appliance connection, account management, onboarding, navigation, and the shared features and experiences used across appliance categories, that drive user engagement across appliance categories. You will guide discovery and design direction, support craft excellence, and work closely with cross-functional agile teams in Kuala Lumpur and Stockholm to deliver coherent and user-centered mobile experiences.

Alongside leading design for the Core and Shared Experience area, you will serve as people manager for designers working across other experience areas. Your focus will be on each individual’s development, wellbeing, performance, and career growth, providing regular coaching, feedback, and support.

A Typical Day

• Lead the design direction for the Core and shared experience area, ensuring a coherent and high-quality user experience that scale across our appliance categories in the app.
• Drive discovery work together with product leads and designer to identify user needs, explore new opportunities, and shape clear direction for the core app experience and shared experiences.
• Partner with product leads, engineering, and stakeholders to define product direction, strategy, and objectives that support business outcomes.
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of product designers and content designers by providing regular feedback and coaching, supporting their professional growth, and creating the conditions for them to deliver their best work.
• Foster and build a discovery and insights-driven culture in an agile and cross-functional environment.
• Deliver excellent UX for our customers through iterative improvements that contribute to a holistic software product experience.
• Build relationships and ways of working with design, content, business, and engineering partners inside and outside the core team to deliver inclusive software experiences that meet diverse user needs and represent our brands.
• Nurture a collaborative culture and craft excellence together with the Electrolux Design community.

Who You Are?

• 5+ years of experience in a design leadership role within a technology, digital product, or software organization.
• Demonstrated experience as a people manager, with direct responsibility for performance management, regular feedback, coaching, and the professional development of designers in a complex product or platform environment.
• You have a thorough understanding of design and creative development processes in an Agile environment
• Extensive experience of working with hands-on UX design in agile cross-functional development teams
• Solid understanding of mobile UX principles, iOS and Android design guidelines, and how to apply design systems effectively to create consistent, scalable app experiences.
• You’re an excellent communicator who can articulate the rationale for your team’s work
• Good knowledge of how to use AI to improve processes and outcomes.
• Good spoken and written English.
• An online portfolio or PDF showcasing a range of your work.
