Job summary

Powertechnic Handling Equipment (M) Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor seeks a Design Engineer to design and draw lifting equipment per client needs, producing 3D models and detailed drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks. You will collaborate with manufacturing, installation and sales teams, liaise with JKKP when needed, and provide technical support.

A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience, plus Mandarin language ability, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field / equivalent.
• Mandarin speaking ability (encouraged but not compulsory) to communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar design / project engineering role, preferably in the handling equipment industry.
• Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for design and modelling.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Designing and drawing lifting equipment solutions based on client requirements and industry best practices.
• Producing detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications using AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
• Liaise with JKKP for registration and learn to handle this governing body as a specialized 'Lifting Company'.
• Collaborating with the manufacturing / production team to ensure smooth implementation of design solutions.
• Working with installation teams and sales executives for design-related progression works.
• Providing technical support and advice to internal teams and external clients as needed.
