Job Summary

Design engineers perform research and come up with new ideas for products and the systems used to create them. The role also includes analyzing existing products with a view to improving their efficiency and overall performance. It also involves the study of the design methodologies, engineering materials, and the selection and control of manufacturing processes used in the development, design, and manufacturing of engineering products.

Duties And Responsibilities

• To support Engineering Team in design task and to ensure products are designs and completed within the given time-frame.
• Manage engineering drawing and perform product improvement from time to time. Responsible on all new product improvement/development from designing, process and production
• Responsibility to special project on designing and prepare production dwg/cutting list for production floor.
• Manage/control production drawings and work closely with production team to ensure product process is efficient and quality is achieved.
• Perform product improvement to ensure cost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.
• Keep connection with global team regarding the product updates or new product implementation.
• Perform drawing management to ensure that all the drawings are up to date.
• To construct/revise 3D models for new and existing product.
• Prepare drawings and cutting list for incoming project enquiry from project coordinator
• Follow up and work together with Tech Assistant to ensure all special projects are done based on design.
• In charge of Engineering Documentation: (A. Engineering Change Notice, B. Engineering, C. Corrective Action Request, D. UL Listed Document)
• To create report for every product improvement and development.
• To create any SOP related to product/process if needed.
• Liase with Tech Assistant regarding ECR/ECN implementation at production floor.
• Assists sales team on product design based on manufacturability of designs.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent
• Good command in English & Bahasa Malaysia
• At least 3 years experience in the related field is required.
• Specialized in Manufacturing/Production Operations or equivalent.
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Required skills: MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.). For MS Excel, able use advanced formula, filtering function and sorting.
• Have SolidWorks knowledge and skill
• Have Auto CAD knowledge and skill
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize and manage workloads with multiple priorities.
• Knowledge on Mechanical and Electrical measuring equipment
• Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing Tools
