Design Architect - Senior and Intermediate

About the role

Zone Designworks Sdn Bhd is seeking experienced Design Architects to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. As a Senior or Intermediate Design Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the design vision and delivering innovative architectural solutions for our diverse range of projects.

What you'll be doing

1. Lead the design and development of complex architectural projects from concept to completion
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into functional and aesthetically-pleasing designs
3. Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed design documentation
4. Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards
5. Provide supervision and mentorship to junior architects and design professionals
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes and standards
7. Meet with clients to discuss design requirements for new constructions, alterations, or repairs
8. Gather measurements, dimensions, and perform routine calculations for design layouts
9. Recommend suitable designs to clients considering budget, site, and trends
10. Use CAD software and manual drawing techniques to produce architectural plans for approval
11. Rework and modify designs based on management and client feedback
12. Provide estimates on costs, time, machinery, and other specifications

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in a similar role; high-rise and commercial development experience preferred
• Degree/Master's in Architecture
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD and 3D modelling software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Photoshop, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Familiarity with local planning regulations and building codes
• Passion for creating innovative, functional, and sustainable designs
