Ensure manufacturing performance by directing all production personnel in the plant to meet schedules that allow for superior customer satisfaction and high plant efficiency by establishing and executing operating plans and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Production Management (70%)
- Manage and coordinate plant operations through supervisory personnel, focusing on production of components, accessories, assemblies, testing of generating equipment, soundproof enclosures, switchgears, and related products.
- Establish production and quality control standards in collaboration with management, develop budgets, and implement cost controls.
- Review production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to identify nonconformities and operational issues, and implement improvements.
- Implement, monitor, and adjust production schedules as needed, determining necessary human and material resources.
- Make decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, modifications, and procurement.
- Oversee operation of equipment such as diesel generators and electrical switchgear to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction.
- Develop standard operating procedures, perform costing, and prepare quotations for customers.
- Participate in stock counts and ISO audits, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor production activities, analyze quality and safety data, and implement process improvements.
- Work with team leaders to ensure operational order, prepare cost forecasts, and attend FATs with customers when necessary.
- Monitor KPIs related to performance, quality, punctuality, and productivity; conduct annual performance appraisals.
- Coordinate with safety officers to implement safety policies and conduct daily safety briefings.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Design, Prototype, and Testing (20%)
- Collaborate with Singapore Engineering Design on new models.
- Maintain and update drawings of current designs.
- System Upkeep (10%)
- Maintain the integrity of production systems, including physical assets, software tools, and SAP.
Leadership and Engagement:
- Engage and motivate staff to achieve business outcomes, working closely with HR.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience as a production manager.
- Practical design and production skills, with the ability to interpret machine instructions.
- Experience liaising with sales, project engineers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ability to handle heavy metal operations involving cutting, hammering, lifting, and engine running, with awareness of associated noise, heat, and safety hazards.
