Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Occupational Health Strategies and Policies: Plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and audit the delivery of occupational health programs for UEMEd to ensure high-quality, value-for-money services, customer satisfaction, and promote best practices in OH based on research, evidence, and evaluation. Exploit potential for income generation and productization.
- Physical and Emotional Well-Being: Formulate, implement, and evaluate policies and strategies for health promotion, protection, and surveillance of workers to meet legislative requirements and promote employees’ health and well-being in line with UEMEd strategies.
- Occupational Health Risk Management: Plan, develop, and evaluate methods for data gathering, analysis, interpretation, and presentation to facilitate continuous improvement. Communicate trends and advise on action plans to meet statutory and voluntary requirements for a healthy workplace, surveillance, and reporting.
- Infectious Disease and COVID-19: Lead oversight and management of infectious diseases, primarily COVID-19, including prevention and control measures to mitigate the spread and minimize health risks.
- HSSE Training and Prevention Program: Contribute to training, advice, health surveillance, vaccination programs, sickness absence management, and investigations of occupational ill health and diseases.
- Occupational Health Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new guidance and legislation, use evidence-based practices to interpret statutory requirements, and ensure health protection of the workforce.
- HSSE Incident Management: Lead incident classification and analysis for injuries or illnesses, contributing to KPIs and incident prevention.
- Business HSSE Advisor: Develop, implement, and evaluate HSSE strategies for other business units in line with UEM Edgenta to ensure safe working conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Safety & Environment Engineering or equivalent.
- Master’s degree in OSH / HSE is advantageous.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience in OSH/HSE.
