Job summary

APX Luxury is seeking a Deputy Editor for Lifestyle Asia Kuala Lumpur with a strong background in style, dining and lifestyle coverage. You will lead news and content discovery, write and publish daily articles, and coordinate shoots and events while liaising with celebrities to drive digital KPIs and high-quality readership.

You will need fluent English writing, excellent communication, and a keen knowledge of dining, style, travel and lifestyle trends in Malaysia and the region.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and communication in English.
• 3+ years’ experience in print and/or media in Malaysia/region; digital experience a plus.
• Proven track record of SEO-friendly stories.
• Familiarity with WordPress CMS.
• Strong editing, proofreading, and factual accuracy skills.
• Experience coordinating shoots and events; celebrity liaison a plus.

APX Luxury is hiring for a Deputy Editor for Lifestyle Asia Kuala Lumpur with in-depth background in covering style, dining and lifestyle. The Deputy Editor will be responsible for news and content discovery, writing and publishing articles on a daily basis, coordinating shoots and events, liaising with celebrities and working towards digital KPIs to produce high quality content for our readers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Creation:
  • Write well-researched, high-quality articles for the website across various categories.
  • Develop and execute engaging editorial ideas in line with the brand's vision on social media, the website and all distribution channels.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure consistency and adherence to editorial standards.
  • Possess strong knowledge / skills in Canva, CapCut and other editing tools
• Shoot Production and Events:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of editorial shoots, ensuring smooth coordination between the creative team and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to create storyboards, moodboards, and scripts for both editorial and commercial campaigns with a strong sense of ownership in creative direction.
  • Support the team in organizing and managing on-ground events and activations, including production, guest-listing, execution of sales deliverables.
• Community Building & Celebrity Coordination:
  • Coordinate with celebrities, influencers, and their teams for interviews, collaborations, and other editorial activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals to facilitate collaborations.
  • Have a community-first mindset for the brand; constantly thinking of new ideas and initiatives for community-building and growing the brand.
• Industry Networking:
  • Leverage existing contacts within the lifestyle, entertainment, and media space to enhance the publication's reach.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to keep the content fresh and relevant.
  • Maintain a positive perception of the brand within the industry.

Qualifications:

• Excellent writing and communication skills in English
• Keen interest and knowledge in dining, style, travel, lifestyle and/or equivalent
• Possess 3+ years’ experience in print and/or media in Malaysia and/or across the region. Digital experience is an added advantage.
• Proven track record of writing engaging well-researched, SEO-friendly stories
• Detail-oriented, resourceful and can work fast under daily deadlines
• Excellent knowledge of the dining scene in major cities in Malaysia and/or across the region
• Relationship with celebrities and KOLs in Malaysia and/or regionally is a plus
• Social media-savvy and always staying on top of trending topics
• Experience using CMS such as Wordpress
• Skills in image editing software and tools
• Practical knowledge of video production/editing and being in front of a camera is a plus
