The Opportunity:

Wealth Premier Banking (WPB) Global Transformation Delivery Lead plans, mobilizes, and directs high-complexity, large-scale projects from inception to completion. They oversee end-to-end planning and delivery, balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, team, outcomes, and benefits. Projects may be standalone or part of a program. They support WPB in achieving business outcomes through successful project and program delivery, working closely with Business, Product Owners, Technologies, Program Managers, and the Global Portfolio Management Office to ensure alignment with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values, and Behaviours.

What you’ll do:

Delivery Leads often manage people and teams within projects or programs. As part of the WPB Global Transformation management team, they also have line management responsibilities for a group of junior resources within their job family, including Delivery Managers. Responsibilities include:

• Effective planning around delivery constraints, maximizing benefits, and minimizing risks.
• Managing scope, requirements, benefits, schedule, and budget according to HSBC Change Framework.
• Tracking costs, risks, issues, dependencies, and project performance.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to drive project outcomes and securing buy-in.
• Obtaining sponsor and stakeholder approval and sign-off for deliverables.
• Managing change implementation to realize business benefits and ensure smooth transition.
• Working closely with delivery partners on planning, design, and dependencies.
• Driving a culture of achievement and removing barriers to success.

Operational Performance:

• Developing detailed project plans and milestones.
• Creating detailed business cases with financial analysis.
• Familiarity with WPB Agile Ways of Working.
• Estimating project efforts and costs using established models.
• Mobilizing teams and assigning roles.
• Reporting on project status, risks, issues, and budgets.
• Ensuring quality and governance compliance.

Capability and People Development:

• Identifying resource requirements and ensuring effective team composition.
• Providing induction, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Fostering a collaborative environment and promoting HSBC values.
• Line managing a pool of Delivery Managers, focusing on performance and professional development.
