Job description

Jora Malaysia will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

Run standard tests on electronic devices or systems using various testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

Set up test environments, including test rigs and automated testing equipment, ensuring that everything is configured correctly for the product being tested.

Ensure that all test parameters (e.g., voltage, current, frequency) are accurately set and within the specified range.

Identify issues that arise during testing and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems, isolating the root cause of test failures.

Inspect products for physical issues, such as soldering defects, damaged components, or improper assembly that may cause test failures.

Perform repairs or rework on faulty components or circuit boards, such as reflowing solder joints, replacing defective components, or repairing circuit traces.

Accurately document the results of tests, including any issues found, repair actions taken, and overall product performance.

Clearly communicate and document specific failures, including any trends or recurring issues, for further analysis by engineers or quality control teams.

Prepare detailed reports of failure modes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions, ensuring that the information is clear and accessible for future reference.

Work closely with test engineers and design engineers to share findings, provide input on recurring issues, and assist in improving testing processes.

Perform routine maintenance and calibration of test equipment, ensuring that tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and test fixtures are functioning properly.

Diagnose and resolve issues with malfunctioning test equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for testing.

Typically, Test Debug Technicians work in manufacturing facilities, labs, or test departments where they have access to testing and debugging tools.

Ensure that all testing and debugging activities are conducted following safety protocols, particularly when handling electrical components, high-voltage equipment, or sensitive devices.

Proficient in using various diagnostic tools and performing repairs or rework on components.

Strong communication skills to work effectively with engineers and team members, sharing findings and insights.

Experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and in-circuit testers.

Ability to perform basic soldering, desoldering, and rework on PCBs.

Skills in identifying physical issues such as component misalignment, defective solder joints, or broken connectors.

Familiarity with electrical circuits, component values, and troubleshooting techniques.

Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to determine the root cause of test failures quickly.

Ability to document issues and solutions clearly for communication with engineers and team members.
