Job summary

Quest International University in Ipoh, Malaysia seeks a strategic leader to provide overall leadership, management and administration of the Faculty of Medicine. Qualifications

• Possess a primary medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant medical specialty.
• Registered with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC), where applicable.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant academic, clinical and/or medical education experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in academic leadership, Faculty management and programme administration.
• Demonstrated experience in medical education, curriculum development and clinical training.
• Strong knowledge and experience in MQA accreditation, MMC requirements and quality assurance.
• Experience in working with teaching hospitals and clinical training partners is an advantage.
• Strong record of research, publications and/or research grant acquisition is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership, management, and administration of the Faculty of Medicine.
• Develop, implement and monitor the faculty’s strategic plans, objectives and KPIs.

• Oversee programme accreditation, quality assurance and CQI activities.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of teaching, assessment, examinations and student progression.
• Ensure effective clinical education, clinical training and clinical placement arrangements.
• Monitor student academic performance, progression and welfare, and address issues appropriately.
• Lead Faculty staff planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management and professional development.
• Promote research, publications, research grants and academic collaboration.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with hospitals, healthcare organisations, universities and professional bodies.
• Identify opportunities for consultancy, professional training, research commercialisation and other revenue-generating activities.
• Oversee Faculty resources, facilities, staffing and operational requirements.
