The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology provides strategic, academic, and administrative leadership to the faculty. The role involves overseeing academic programmes, research initiatives, faculty development, student success, and external partnerships, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission, values, and strategic goals. The Dean will play a critical role in fostering innovation, maintaining academic standards, and promoting a culture of excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.

Job Requirements:

• A PhD in a relevant field within applied sciences, engineering, or technology.
• At least 10 years of academic experience, including significant leadership roles at departmental or faculty level.
• Proven track record in teaching, research, and academic administration.
• Experience in curriculum design, programme accreditation, and quality assurance processes (preferably within the Malaysian higher education framework).
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with external stakeholders.

Job Description:

1. Strategic and Operational Planning: Shaping school strategies and priorities, including periodic review of its academic programmes for Data Science unit. Ensuring plans are aligned with institutional goals and managing programmes to meet learners' needs.
2. Academic Leadership: Promoting a culture of excellence, guiding the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs/curricula, and ensuring compliance with relevant authorities. Identifying staff needs and planning for staff requisition. Chairing school committees and reporting on school development.
3. Supervision of Academic Staff: Overseeing teaching load allocation, conducting performance reviews, and proposing staff training and development programs.
4. Budget Management: Preparing and managing annual budgets for effective resource allocation based on university guidelines.
5. Linkages and Partnerships: Expanding collaborations with other educational institutions, including secondary schools, to promote programs and resource sharing.
