Position: Data Center Technician (L1)

Job Nature: Freelance (Contract)

Role Type: Dispatch Role

Shift: Morning, Evening & night shift

Working Hours: standard Business Hours

Site Address: Johor Bahru, Malaysia (On-site)

Language: English (B2), Malay (B2 - C1)

Experience required: more than 3 years in Data center environment

Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Fiber optics: 3 years (Preferred)
  • OTDR: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Routers and Switches: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Access points: 3 years (Preferred)
Responsibilities
  • Network Troubleshooting and Optimization: Diagnose and resolve issues across Ethernet, fiber, and wireless networks. Optimize network performance through regular maintenance and configuration adjustments.
  • Installation and System Upgrades: Deploy and configure a variety of network equipment, including but not limited to routers, switches, WAPs (Wireless Access Points), and ensure their compatibility within ethernet, fiber and wireless frameworks.
  • Comprehensive Cabling Solutions: Execute expert installation, management, and troubleshooting of cabling infrastructures, including copper for Ethernet networks and fiber optics for high-speed connections, ensuring optimal network performance and reliability.
  • Wireless Network Expertise: Implement and manage wireless networking solutions, including the setup of WAPs, ensuring secure and efficient wireless connectivity across data centers.
  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Support documentation of network setups, configurations, and optimizations. Continually assess and recommend improvements to network install area, cabling, and other infrastructure setup.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with NOC and network engineering teams to troubleshoot, deploy and enhance operational efficiency.
