Job summary

RLCTECH MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Delivery Engineer to lead end-to-end implementation and ongoing stability of database clusters for clients. You will apply Oracle/MySQL and Linux expertise to deploy, migrate, and tune systems while ensuring high availability and data integrity.

You will own on-site delivery, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and deliver reliable data platforms through performance tuning, monitoring, and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Oracle or MySQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, HA, and migration processes.
• Proficient in SQL development and optimization for Oracle/MySQL.
• Linux/Unix systems experience with CLI-based analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, deployment, and standardized implementation of OceanBase clusters.
• Execute end-to-end data migrations from source databases to OceanBase with validation.
• Post-migration monitoring, deep-dive performance tuning, and fault resolution.
• Manage daily DB tasks: backups, health checks, capacity planning.

Job description

As a Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation and operational stability of database clusters for our clients. You will leverage your expertise in traditional RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL) and Linux systems to execute standardized deployments, lead complex data migration initiatives, and ensure seamless data synchronization. Your role involves not only the technical execution of installation and migration but also the ongoing performance tuning, fault diagnosis, and daily maintenance of the database environment. You will act as a key technical owner on-site, ensuring high availability and data consistency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

Lead the installation, deployment, and standardized implementation of OceanBase database clusters, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural guidelines.

Execute end-to-end data migration projects from source databases to OceanBase, including schema conversion, data transfer, and rigorous data validation to guarantee integrity.

Conduct post-migration monitoring setup, perform deep-dive performance tuning, and resolve critical faults to ensure system stability and efficiency.

Manage daily database administration tasks, including backup/recovery drills, health checks, and capacity planning to maintain high service levels.

Oversee data sharding strategies and maintain robust synchronization channels for full-stack platform foundation databases, ensuring real-time data consistency.

Collaborate with project managers and client stakeholders to deliver assigned technical tasks on time and with high quality.

About you

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with mainstream relational databases (specifically Oracle or MySQL).

Understanding of database architecture, scalability, replication, and High Availability (HA) technologies. Proven track record in installation, parameter configuration, migration, tuning, diagnostics, and backup/recovery.

Strong capability in SQL development and optimization within Oracle or MySQL environments.

Proficient in Linux/Unix operating systems with strong command-line skills for system analysis and troubleshooting.

Strong sense of ownership and resilience; capable of working independently to solve complex client-side challenges.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a client-facing environment.

Good written and spoken English proficiency for technical documentation and basic communication.

Willingness to embrace challenging tasks and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
