Job Purpose Summary:

This is a DBA position responsible for ensuring the health of BAU databases and participating in project setup. The DBA will project growth and advise customers/users on resource requirements. The role may require working during odd hours or public holidays when necessary.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Familiar with at least two of the following databases: MSSQL, MYSQL, ORACLE, MongoDB.
2. Perform health checks on databases to ensure they are in good health.
3. Monitor database replication and ensure synchronization at the DR site.
4. Verify database backups are in place and functioning.
5. Monitor database storage and ensure sufficient space for growth.
6. Participate in scheduled database security patching.
7. Assist with data and program patching during scheduled downtimes.
8. Travel between PJ and HQ as required.
9. Provide 24/7 support on a rotational basis, including public holidays.
10. Handle database incidents and ensure tickets are resolved.
11. Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.
12. Perform database backup and restore operations as needed.
13. Set up, configure, and maintain new databases for testing or projects.
14. Address audit findings related to databases.
15. Generate health check reports and status updates.

Managerial Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical guidance to junior DBAs and new team members.
2. Manage and deliver assigned tasks efficiently.

Organizational Responsibilities:

1. Meet business needs and provide solutions related to database services.
2. Lead or participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders for BAU or project activities.
3. Work during odd hours, long hours, or public holidays as required.

Requirements:

1. At least 2 years of experience managing production databases in two of the following: MSSQL, ORACLE, DB2, MYSQL, MongoDB.
2. Experience in the Financial Industry is advantageous.
3. Skills in troubleshooting and tuning databases are beneficial.
4. Experience in database migration across versions, platforms, or types is a plus.
