Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services, Asia Pacific, invites a Data Scientist to join our team and advance our AI platform capabilities in real-world applications. You will work across business units to translate needs into scalable platform features and deliver production-ready code in Python.

You will collaborate with data engineers and platform leaders to ensure design constraints are respected, reuse existing components when possible, and document your work for the core team.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or data science; PhD not required.
• 3+ years hands-on experience building production software, including some LLM/GenAI work (RAG, agents, tool-calling, prompt engineering).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean Python, API design, cloud deployment (AWS preferred).
• Experience with at least one LLM framework/SDK (LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, AWS AgentCore, or direct API).
• Comfortable in an existing platform architecture and conventions rather than building from scratch.
• Experience with time series analysis and traditional ML is a bonus, not required.
• Able to work independently in a Kanban delivery environment with minimal ramp-up time.

Responsibilities

• Apply existing in-house AI platform capabilities to new business use cases — scoping, mapping to platform primitives, and integration.
• Enhance and extend platform products: add integrations, improve workflows, extend monitoring, close production gaps.
• Write production-grade code (Python required; Node.js/TypeScript a strong plus) for services, pipelines, and APIs plugging into the platform architecture.
• Collaborate with data engineers and platform team lead to understand system design constraints before extending the system.
• Translate requirements into working features, prioritizing reuse of existing platform components over bespoke builds.
• Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge transfer for long-term maintainability.
