Job summary

SCHOTT is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, ETL/ELT processes, and notebooks. You will shape data architecture, model lakehouse and warehouse structures, and integrate data from ERP/CRM/MES for reporting and analytics.

You will collaborate with Process Analysts, IT, and Smart Manufacturing Engineers to deliver governed datasets, ensure data quality, and support self-service analytics across global teams. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or cloud-based data platform development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience designing and managing Lakehouse and Data Warehouse architectures.
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT development using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, and Notebooks.
• Experience integrating data from ERP, CRM, MES, and other enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data governance, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience with data quality, monitoring, and pipeline optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from multiple source systems.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Notebooks, and Dataflows.
• Design and maintain data architecture within Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouse and warehouse structures.
• Integrate data from ERP, MES, CRM, and other operational databases; build connectors and ingestion pipelines.
• Implement data validation, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Collaborate with Process Analysts, IT, and Smart Manufacturing Engineers to provide structured datasets for reporting and dashboards.
• Monitor performance and optimize pipelines, storage, and compute usage; contribute to governance and metadata management.
