Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain a central data platform enabling analytics, data distribution and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.

You will work with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, well-structured data for operational, analytical and AI/ML use cases, while building data lake/lakehouse solutions with Databricks and Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong experience with Apache Spark, Snowflake, Databricks.
• Programming languages: Python, SQL.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing principles.
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
• Experience with metadata management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Commitment to high-quality work, data security, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain METTLER TOLEDO’s central data platform for analytics and AI/ML.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and secure data flows across the organization.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to deliver trusted data.
• Develop and maintain data lake/lakehouse using Databricks and Snowflake.
• Create and optimize ETL/ELT and reverse ETL processes.
• Ensure data quality, governance and security across pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD practices and maintain metadata catalogs and data lineage.
