Job summary

SAINS, the data-led arm of Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd., is seeking a Data Management Specialist to power its digital transformation. The role is a 24-month fixed-term contract with responsibilities spanning data systems development, governance, and training.

You will collaborate across IT and business units to ensure data quality, security, and seamless data integration while maintaining system reliability. Candidates with strong SQL and data governance mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in data management.
• Proficient in SQL and data integration.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance data management systems to support organizational needs.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and security through regular maintenance and updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data management issues.
• Integrate data from various database systems into the central data management system.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure smooth data flow and compatibility.
• Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across the system.
• Monitor and address data discrepancies and integrity issues.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on data management system usage.
• Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure system meets these requirements.
• Document system processes, updates, and changes.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
