Job summary

OneJar, on behalf of a leading financial services company in Malaysia, seeks a highly motivated Data Engineer to join their team in Shah Alam. The role involves building data pipelines, data models, and analytics solutions to optimize data quality and business insights.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Python, database design, and experience with Databricks or Spark. This is a permanent, full-time position offering growth and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Python (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling.
• Experience building data pipelines and processes.
• Strong analytical skills with large data.
• Knowledge of Databricks, Dataflow, or Apache Spark is a plus.
• Knowledge of Prefect, MLflow or similar tools, and ML/DL libraries.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze complex data-related problems.
• Plan data projects aligned with organizational goals.
• Develop databases, data collection systems, data analytics solutions, and other strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Acquire data from primary and secondary sources while maintaining databases and data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex datasets.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
• Maintain comprehensive data science and analytics documentation.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify opportunities where data can create business value.
• Develop and implement data science infrastructure.
• Experiment tracking.
• Set up a feature store.
• A/B testing platform implementation.
• Other related tools and frameworks.
