We're Hiring: Data Engineer!

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in data processing, ETL development, and database management to support our data-driven initiatives and analytics requirements.

Role: Data Engineer (Contract, RM4K - RM6K)

Job Scope

• Develop, maintain, and automate ETL pipelines from multiple sources (on-premise databases, flat files, APIs, and cloud).

• Design structured, scalable data models to support analytics and reporting.

• Implement validation checks, ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.

• Optimize pipeline performance, reduce system load, and enhance efficiency.

• Set up CI/CD for data pipelines with monitoring, logging, and rollback mechanisms.

• Collaborate with analytics, IT, and business teams to deliver trusted and usable datasets.

• Prepare technical documentation and conduct training sessions for internal staff.

• Support strategic initiatives by accelerating key data engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• Experience: 1–5 years of relevant experience in data engineering.

• Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Linux Shell.

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and machine learning implementation.

  • Familiarity with both on-premise (Oracle, SQL Server) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

• Preferred Knowledge: Azure Data Factory, Kafka, Great Expectations.

• Certification: Certified Data Engineer (required). Azure Cloud Certification or Database certifications (MySQL, Oracle) are a plus.

• Other Qualities: Strong problem-solving ability, stakeholder collaboration, and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Remuneration

Basic Salary: RM4,000 - RM6,000
