Job summary

Materialise Medical in Malaysia is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that power analytics and reporting. You will collaborate with software engineers, analytics consumers, and stakeholders to ensure data is processed accurately and reliably.

Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and AWS-based data services is preferred. You will monitor pipelines, implement data quality checks, and contribute to a reliable data platform across the organization.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming or scripting experience, preferably Python.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
• Preferred: Experience with software testing, data testing, or automated quality assurance practices.
• Experience in data engineering, data integration, or data processing.
• Knowledge of SQL, databases, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data processing pipelines and data products, supporting analytics and operational reporting.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot failures, investigate data issues, and improve platform reliability.
• Implement automated validation, reconciliation, and quality monitoring to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Work with AWS services such as Glue, Athena, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and DMS.
• Collaborate with analytics teams, software engineers, and data consumers to support trusted and usable data products.
• Contribute to monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of data platform reliability and engineering practices.
