Job summary

Ipsos Sdn Bhd is seeking a Data Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to shape data management and analytics capabilities. You will engineer, deploy, and maintain modern data pipelines and AI-enabled solutions across diverse datasets and client engagements.

You will work with Python, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, and Tableau to deliver scalable data processing workflows. English fluency is required.

Data Engineer | 1-3 years working experience

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data management and analytics platform. You are responsible for engineering, deploying, and maintaining modern data engineering and data science solutions that drive scalability, business growth, and innovation. You will explore rich, diverse datasets, leverage modern cloud architectures and algorithms, and contribute to building client-facing solutions that deliver deep strategic insights across industries.

What You Will Do

Scale & automate data pipelines: Build, optimize, and standardize production data pipelines for large-scale, multi-country client engagements, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and performance.

Integrate multi-source data streams: Design and implement robust software solutions to ingest, clean, and process structured and unstructured data from survey research (IIS and other rpoviders) and other APIs/source such as client data warehouses (first-party data).

Work with a modern engineering stack: Leverage tools such as Python, Docker, Google Cloud services, and Tableau to build pragmatic automation solutions for complex data processing workflows.

Deliver production-grade AI & analytics: Develop analytical and AI-driven solutions for client challenges and deploy them into production as scalable, reliable services on our platform.

Internal consulting & advisory: Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical advisory on efficient data workflows, platform capabilities, and data-driven decision-making processes.

Your Profile

Academic Background: Degree or Master in a Computer Science, Information Systems / Business Informatics or a related quantitative discipline.

Professional Experience: You bring at least 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering / Data Science paired with strong curiosity and eagerness to explore and master emerging technologies.

Expertise in Python with hands-on proficiency in core libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy).

Strong foundation in ETL/ELT processes, relational database systems, and SQL.

Solid grasp of standard data exchange protocols, APIs/interfaces, and data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro, etc.).

Practical experience with Docker and modern container workflows.

Practical experience with cloud ecosystems (specifically Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure) and working within agile/Scrum frameworks is a distinct advantage.

Mindset & Working Style: You are a collaborative team player with an internal consulting mindset who proactively drives initiatives forward with ownership and autonomy. Your work is structured, reliable, and detail-oriented.

Languages: Professional fluency in English (written and verbal) is required
