Data Engineer

About the Role:

As part of the Data & Reporting team, you will assist in the back-end design, implementation, and ongoing operation of Ezypay’s business intelligence platform (PowerBI).

As a Data Engineer you will:

1. Design and develop solutions in the field of data engineering in Business Intelligence.
2. Develop, maintain, and improve ETL processes.
3. Create and model data marts in the appropriate format (relational and/or dimensional table) and granularity.
4. Prioritise and implement robust automated tests to ensure data quality and proactively identify issues.
5. Provide datasets to PowerBI users and other business users.
6. Create data dictionaries and documentation for all data models.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
2. Experience working with data processing tools (in particular Dbt) and Cloud environments (Snowflake mostly).
3. Proficient in basic and advanced SQL programming concepts.
4. Good knowledge and understanding of data warehouse concepts (Dimensional Modelling, change data capture, slowly changing dimensions etc.).
5. Knowledge in performance tuning and optimization.
6. Proficiency in Power BI tool will be an added advantage.
7. Proficiency in Python for automation (e.g. automated reporting) will be an added advantage.
8. Sound aptitude, outstanding logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
9. Willingness to learn and take initiatives.
10. Excellent communication skills.
