Job summary

Ekco, a leading cloud solution provider, is seeking a Full Stack Data Engineer who owns end-to-end data pipelines and dashboards. You will collect data, process it, and visualise results for stakeholders, directly engaging with business users to gather requirements and validate insights.

The role emphasizes Python, PySpark, Databricks, PowerBI, and strong English communication. You’ll build robust pipelines, maintain reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a security-first MSP

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or BI Developer with a strong engineering background.
• Strong communication in English with non-technical colleagues; ability to ask why and propose improvements.
• Proficient in Python; experience writing scripts to fetch data from REST APIs.
• Experience with PySpark transformations and SQL queries.
• Deep knowledge of PowerBI data modeling, relationships, star schema and DAX.
• Ability to turn a one-line requirement into a finished report with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Requirements & Validation: Talk to business stakeholders to understand insights and translate into technical tasks; demonstrate PowerBI reports to validate numbers.
• Data Collection: Build and maintain Azure Functions (Python) to scrape data from APIs, handle auth, pagination, and errors.
• Data Engineering: Develop PySpark notebooks in Databricks to transform raw JSON into clean, structured data following Medallion Architecture.
• Reporting: Build PowerBI models and dashboards with efficient data models and visuals that answer business questions.
• Maintenance: Monitor pipelines and fix issues proactively before customers notice.

The Role

We are looking for true Full Stack Data Engineers who own the entire value chain of data. You are not just a backend developer; you collect data, process it, and visualize it for our customers. Crucially, you interact directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, demo your results, and validate that the data is accurate. The technical architecture for PowerBI Embedded is already designed—your job is to build the pipelines and reports that feed it.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements & Validation: Talk to business stakeholders to understand what insights they need. Translate these needs into technical tasks. After building, you demonstrate the PowerBI report to the stakeholder to validate the numbers.
• Data Collection: Build and maintain robust Azure Functions (Python) to scrape data from various APIs. You handle the complexity of authentication, pagination, and error handling.
• Data Engineering: Develop high-quality PySpark notebooks in Databricks to transform raw JSON into clean, structured data (Medallion Architecture: Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Reporting: Build insightful PowerBI models and dashboards. You ensure the data model is efficient (Star Schema) and the visuals answer the business questions.
• Maintenance: You run what you build. You proactively monitor your pipelines and fix issues before the customer notices.

Requirements (Must Haves)

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or BI Developer with a strong engineering background.
• Communication Skills: Proven ability to discuss requirements with non-technical colleagues in English. You don't just take orders; you ask "why" and suggest better solutions.
• Python & APIs: Strong coding skills in Python. Experience writing scripts to fetch data from REST APIs (handling retries, rate limits).
• Databricks & SQL: Comfortable writing PySpark transformations and complex SQL queries.
• PowerBI Mastery: Deep knowledge of Data Modeling (relationships, star schema) and DAX. You know how to build a user-friendly report.
• Autonomy: You can take a one-line requirement (e.g., "We need insight into ticket response times") and turn it into a finished report without constant supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AI workloads and how to shape and present data so that we can use it for AI
• Strong experience in Symantic models, unity catalog and data optimization
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.
