Job summary

ByteDance Data Center Development team is hiring for an experienced project lead to drive end-to-end delivery of data center projects in the APAC region. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage greenfield providers, and ensure electrical & telecom fit-out quality in the data halls.

The role requires a strong background in electrical/mechanical/civil engineering with at least 3 years in large-scale project delivery and familiarity with APAC regulatory standards, especially in Malaysia,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in project delivery for a minimum 50 MW project.
• Familiar with data center building standards and authority requirements in APAC (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia).

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end project management of data center delivery with cross-functional teams.
• Manage data center providers for greenfield projects.
• Lead electrical and telecom fit-out works in the data hall.
• Localise data center standards including workmanship and design.
• Support site selection tasks in the APAC region.
• Support technical reviews for data center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with design teams to optimize data hall standards.
• Assist local operations for post-hand-over defect rectification.

Responsibilities

About the Team

ByteDance Data Center Development team is responsible for building Data Center and Network in the Asia Pacific region. Our work involves, but not limiting to, data center innovation, implementing advanced technologies and renewable energy to achieve carbon-neutrality, rapid project delivery, capacity planning, process and risk control, cost management, etc. Our objective is to provide ByteDance with efficient Data Center infrastructure services to support our business growth.

The Global Delivery Management team is mainly responsible for site selection, acquisition, and project delivery.

Key job responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the End to End project management of data center delivery including cross-functional team collaboration
• Responsible for the management of data center providers for green field project
• Responsible for Electrical & Telecom Fitout work of the data hall
• Responsible for localisation of data center standards including worksmanship & design
• Support site selection related task in APAC region
• Support technical review for data center infrastructure
• Work closely with the design team for the optimization of data hall standards
• Support local operation team for post handover defect rectification

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar field and/or relevant experience in project delivery for a minimum 50 MW project
• Familiar with data center building standards & authority requirements in APAC region; especially in Thailand, Malaysia & Indonesia

Preferred Qualifications

• Good relations with local electrical & telecom fit-out contractor will be a plus
• Good relations with local telecommunication authorities & carriers will be a plus
• Certification as a Professional Engineer will be a plus
