Job description

This position is for K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Johor, Malaysia.

Purpose of the Role:

On a day-to-day basis, the Data Centre Specialist (DCS) is responsible for executing and assisting with maintenance breakdowns and follow-ups. The DCS must ensure that maintenance works efficiently, effectively, safely, and in line with the maintenance strategy.

Responsible for carrying out planned work and reporting directly to the Facility Lead.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the successful operation, maintenance, and repair of all critical equipment systems while maintaining 100% uptime on site.
2. Plan completion of planned & reactive work orders assigned to achieve and maintain 100% compliance every month.
3. Assist in the planning, supervision, and handover of any project-related changes or improvements within the facility.
4. Ensure that the Facilities Operations Centre (FOC), FOC Library, Stores & Workshop are clean and tidy at all times.
5. Work closely with management and the wider operational team on the review of equipment failures and preparation of detailed root cause analysis and action plan reports.
6. Provide input into and develop site-specific procedures associated with maintenance and operation of critical equipment: SOPs, EOPs, Drills, etc.
7. Assist in technical issues, project management, vendor management, and technical reporting on all critical equipment and computerized systems.
8. Escort and supervise/monitor work of third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with site standards.
9. Operate equipment, monitor, and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions in the FOC as required.

• Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
• Flexible in working patterns to support business and operational demands.
• Good working ability on Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
