Job summary

Farben in Malaysia seeks an experienced IDC MEP infrastructure engineer to oversee operation, maintenance and risk management of critical data center systems in Johor.

You will manage capacity, implement preventive maintenance, coordinate with COLO providers and work with procurement to optimize SLAs and related policies.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in large data centers, and strong English or Malay communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years managing infrastructure in large data centers or 5+ years facility management in large facilities.
• Hands-on with MEP equipment including UPS, generators, chillers, pumps and cooling towers.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
• Good written and spoken English or Malay.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational management of critical data center infrastructure.
• Lead change management, fault response and preventive maintenance tracking.
• Manage capacity of power distribution and cooling systems.
• Monitor availability risks and drive problem resolution.
• Lead projects to improve capacity, energy efficiency and reliability.
• Support IT Manager in daily operations and projects.
• Assist in design, construction and commissioning of new sites.
• Collaborate with COLO providers and procurement to optimize SLAs and policies.
• Establish performance benchmarks and prepare related reports.
