Job summary

DayOne is seeking an Internship - Assistant Facility Engineer (AFE) to join our global data center operations team in Malaysia. You will assist in monitoring MEP systems, support routine checks, and learn safety and operational procedures under experienced engineers.

This role offers hands-on exposure to critical infrastructure, vendor coordination, and data analysis, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects within a growing data center group.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in engineering related to facilities.
• Interest in data center operations and critical engineering systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving mindset.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and basic operation of MEP systems within the data center.
• Support routine checks of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and security systems.
• Learn and follow safety policies, procedures, and best practices under supervision.
• Support shift teams with daily operational activities and handover documentation.
• Observe 24/7 operations and assist with coordination tasks as assigned.
• Assist with planning and tracking activities related to resources and workflows.
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities under supervision.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors during maintenance or minor upgrades.
• Collect maintenance data, log issues, and track work orders.
• Learn basic troubleshooting techniques and assist in issue resolution.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering
