Data Center Engineer

We are hiring for a Data Center Engineer to work in Nusajaya, Johor.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure Data Center Availability and Reliability:
   Oversee multiple data centers to meet operational requirements.
   Conduct daily inspections of servers, switches, and power environment.
   Maintain the computer room operating environment.
2. Hardware Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on data center server equipment.
   Handle hardware maintenance and troubleshooting for Windows/Linux systems.
   Assist in troubleshooting Unix-like systems and provide timely feedback on problems.
3. Network Equipment Management:
   Troubleshoot and resolve data center network equipment and switch failures.
   Conduct switch replacement and address link failures promptly.
4. Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
   Respond promptly to daily problems and emergencies.
   Provide resolution and follow-up troubleshooting for issues.
5. Physical Infrastructure Management:
   Arrange physical links in the data center, including optical fibers, network cables, and power cords.
   Inspect, repair, replace, and report on all servers and spare parts regularly.
6. Asset Management:
   Prepare, warehouse, record, and provide feedback on assets required for computer room work orders.
   Coordinate with regular asset inventory to ensure 100% accuracy.
   Ensure the safety of on-site assets in the data center.
7. Communication and Coordination:
   Coordinate and communicate with data center operators, manufacturers, and logistics.
   Provide daily reports on time to relevant stakeholders.

Your role requires a blend of technical expertise, proactive maintenance, and effective communication to ensure the smooth functioning of data centers.

Requirement:

Educational Background: A professional degree in computing, information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Experience: More than three years of experience in server or storage maintenance, preferably with experience in data center or internet data center environments.

Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with principles and operations of servers and storage from mainstream manufacturers.
Solid professional experience, especially hands-on ability, and the ability to independently solve server and system failures.
Familiarity with both Windows and Linux systems.
Familiarity with office software.
