Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Malaysia I Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced procurement and vendor-management professional to lead maintenance-contract procurement and vendor oversight.

You will collaborate with procurement and DCO teams to outline contract specs, select vendors, and negotiate terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance. The role requires deep knowledge of data centre operations, strong data-driven decision making, and excellent communication with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management and contract negotiation in data centre or related industry.
• Understanding of data centre operations, maintenance requirements, and industry standards.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of favourable terms.
• Ability to analyse performance data, identify trends, and data-driven decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills for multiple contracts and vendors.
• Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia.
• Relevant certifications in procurement, supply chain management, or contract management (e.g., CPM, CSCP).
• Familiarity with Southeast Asia regulatory landscape.
• Proactive and self-motivated with focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of Maintenance Contracts: Collaborate with Procurement, and DCO teams to identify maintenance needs and develop specifications for new contracts.
• Vendor Selection: Conduct market research to identify potential vendors, evaluate capabilities, and select suitable ones.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of maintenance contracts for cost-effectiveness and alignment with company standards.
• Contract Management: Draft, review, and approval of new maintenance contracts ensuring compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors for effective communication and collaboration.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance against contract terms and KPIs for timely and quality service delivery.
• Reviews: Chair monthly performance review meetings with vendors to discuss metrics and improvements.
• Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on vendor performance to senior management.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve procurement and vendor management processes.
