RGM Data Scientist

Do you have a passion for applying data science to solve real‑world challenges? FrieslandCampina’s DS Team is looking for a motivated RGM Data Scientist to build the "Commercial Brain" of our retail business.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a complex landscape where milk price volatility meets fast‑moving consumer demands. To win in retail we are transforming how we manage value and drive the design and evolution of high‑quality, scalable data models that enable commercial decision‑making.
• Act as a bridge between business and technology, translating complex RGM use cases (pricing, promotions, trade spend, customer profitability) into robust data science models that power analytics and insights across the organization.
• Develop data science solutions to meet current business needs using the latest technologies and developments; own development aspects of engagements and integrate user experience when framing data products.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in data science and share these with the team.
• Construct reusable data science libraries; assist in creating a reusable code base from solutions we have created earlier.
• Be an advocate for data science in the organization and drive business awareness at senior management on LLM use‑cases and their potential.
• Bring knowledge from other projects and similar domains internally and externally.
• Be recognized as a trusted advisor by business product owners and coach within the data science community of practice.

Qualifications

• Built products that deliver a Unified RGM Engine and can build technical rails to support an evolving architecture.
• Has a broader view than just your position and can identify with our purpose ‘Nourishing by Nature’.
• Finished a Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, etc.).
• 5+ years experience in data science.
• Takes responsibility for your work and continuously looks for new opportunities to make a change.
• Embraces the process of trial and error, learns from successes and failures, and always seeks improvement and innovation.
• Strong programming skills in Python and prioritizes quality code.
• Can debug the behaviour of models, not just the code.
• Has natural curiosity about explainability of non‑deterministic models.
