Job summary

QL Resources Berhad's Group IT team seeks a Data Analytics Engineer to drive data analysis, data engineering and ML initiatives. You will gather business intelligence, analyze complex datasets, and translate insights into strategic actions that boost growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities include building pipelines, migrating data, and delivering analytics assets across Lakehouse/Data Warehouse ecosystems using Microsoft Fabric. Fresh grads and up to 2 years’ experience are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM or equivalent.
• Open to fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years’ experience in BI, data analysis, or analytics.
• Strong commercial awareness with expertise in data analysis, visualization, and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in Power BI and Python.
• Technical skillsets in data engineering (ETL optimization) and ML/DS.
• Sound understanding of data warehousing, ETL concepts, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics, business modeling, optimization, simulation modeling, and statistics.
• Experience with RBAC, secure views, and data segregation techniques.
• Willing to be based at HQ, Shah Alam.

• Transform data into reusable analytics assets - datasets, reports, pipelines and notebooks in the Lakehouse/Data Warehouse with Microsoft Fabric.
• Conduct deep-dive analytics based on business priorities and identify improvement opportunities.
• Build data pipelines and manage data migration projects.
• Deliver tactical and strategic solutions to support commercial objectives.
• Manage analytics and windowing, data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Gather documents, analyze data requirements, and produce technical specs.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and BI analytics best practices.

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will be a key player in our organization, driving transformative initiatives in data analysis, data engineering, and/or machine learning. Your primary responsibility will be to gather business intelligence from diverse sources, analyze complex datasets, and formulate strategic recommendations to drive business growth and enhance operational efficiency.

• Transform data into reusable analytics assets - datasets, reports, pipelines and notebooks in the curated layer of the Lakehouse and Data Warehouse in Microsoft Fabric.
• Conduct deep-dive analytics based on business priorities and identify improvement opportunities.
• Build data pipelines and manage data migration projects.
• Deliver both tactical and strategic solutions to support the organization's commercial objectives.
• Manage analytics and windowing functions, data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Gather documents, analyze data requirements, and produce technical specifications.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and analytics.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent.
• Open to fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years’ experience in BI, data analysis, or analytics, preferably from fast-paced industries (food, retail, manufacturing).
• Strong commercial awareness with expertise in data analysis, visualization, and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in one or more analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Python)
• Technical skillsets in data engineering (e.g., ETL optimization) and machine learning/data science.
• Sound understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL concepts, and data modeling.
• Proficiency in advanced analytics, business modeling, optimization, simulation modeling, and statistical techniques.
• Experience with role-based access control (RBAC), secure views, and data segregation techniques
• Candidate must be willing to be based at HQ, Shah Alam.
